The Geo-System Engineering Research Center (GSERC) is dedicated to Computational Petroleum Geosciences Innovation. We operate at the intersection of academic rigor and industrial relevance — developing research that advances scientific understanding while producing tools and training that practitioners can use immediately.
Our story
GSERC was founded to address a critical gap: African oil & gas professionals often receive excellent theoretical training but lack access to the computational tools, software development skills, and applied research environments that characterize leading international centers. We set out to change that — by building a center that does not just teach reservoir engineering, but builds the software, conducts the research, and trains the next generation of computationally fluent petroleum engineers.
